Income tax

Military Pension & Veteran Income-Tax Exemptions

NJ does not tax military pensions/survivor benefits, and honorably discharged veterans get an additional $6,000 income-tax exemption.

Neither is rating-gated; VA disability compensation is also not taxed by NJ.

Free Hunting and Fishing Licenses (any rating)

Resident veterans with a VA service-connected disability of any degree get free hunting and fishing licenses, permits, and stamps.
