Minnesota lets taxpayers subtract military retirement pay (including pensions) from state taxable income.

Any service-related disability gets a free annual state-park vehicle permit; 100% disabled veterans get free permanent angling/small-game/deer licenses, reduced at 50-99%.

Surviving Children & Spouses Education Benefit

Spouses/children of a veteran with a 100% VA P&T service-connected disability (or service death) attend a Minnesota public college tuition-free up to a bachelor's degree.

Dependent eligibility requires the veteran's death or a 100% VA P&T disability.
