Disabled Veteran Property Tax Exemption

Veterans with a 100% P&T disability are fully exempt from property tax on their dwelling and surrounding yard.

May also be granted below 100% where the VA finds the veteran permanently unemployable (TDIU).

Free Disabled Veteran License Plates

Veterans rated 100% (or compensated at the 100% rate for individual unemployability, P&T) receive free DV plates.

MVA also offers permanent registration for qualifying 100% disabled veterans.

Complimentary Lifetime Hunting/Fishing License

Residents who are 100% disabled, deemed unemployable by the VA, or former POWs receive a free lifetime hunting/fishing license.

TDIU (deemed unemployable) also qualifies.

Military Retirement Income Subtraction

Maryland allows a subtraction of up to $20,000 of military retirement income (age 55+) or up to $12,500 (under 55).
